I God pronounce a benediction on His people. He blesses them! He instructs Aaron, in Numbers 6:24-26, to say this to His people: “The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.”
We need the same blessing: To be cared for by the Lord who watches over us; to have the smile of His face upon us and the riches of his grace given to us; to have him pay attention to us when we call; and, as the result of these thing, to enjoy his peace in our hearts. Pease (Shalom) is one of the great words in the Hebrew language. It means more than absence of strife and stress. It involves quietness of heart, spiritual health and wellbeing, spiritual prosperity, adequacy for all the demands of life. It’s the kind of spiritual wellbeing that rises above our circumstances.
Shalom to you today!
