In Exodus 25, God instructs Israel to build the Ark of the covenant which shall be positioned in the very center of the nation. The tribes will all position themselves around the presence of God. When God moves, they move. When God stops, they stop.

Further, God instructed Moses to place in the Ark of the Covenant, the ten commandments. That’s why it’s called “The Ark of the Covenant.” It contains God’s Word to them on how to live a life pleasing to Him. In verse 22, God says, “There I will meet with you…” and there “… I will speak with you about all that I will give you in commandment…”

It is at God’s Word that people and nations meet with God. It’s as we organize our lives around His Word that He makes himself known to us. If a nation makes the Covenant the core of everything it does, it will experience God’s leading and direction followed by God’s blessings. If we as individuals place God’s Word at the core of our existence, we too will experience God’s leading and direction followed by God’s blessings.

Jeremiah tellsĀ  a nation that had stopped listening to God’s Word of a day that will come when God will write his “covenant words” on their hearts, and then the nation will again prosper and flourish because God is at its center. It is as nations and people put God’s Word at the center of their lives that God’s blessings begin to flow.

In John 14:21, Jesus said, ‘whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my father and I too will love him and show myself to him.”
