Psalm 40 is a great read! In a loose translation it says something like this: Whenever I go my own way instead of following God’s will for my life, I get myself into incredible messes. (Literally slimy pits!). The messes are usually so bad, I can’t get out of them by myself. (too muddy for feet, too sloppy for hands) And I find myself all alone with no one who can help me. That’s when I “repent”, I tell God I’m sorry for going astray. He hears me, forgives, and then He gets me out of the messes I’ve made in my life. He gives me a new start, with new direction and new purpose in my life. I’m so filled with joy then, I sing a new song. The new song is different. Instead of singing, “I don’t care what you say, this is my life,” or “Don’t fence me in,” or “It’s my life, I can do what I want,” or “I gotta be me,” or “I did it my way,” Now I sing songs like “I did it your way, God (YHWH)” . And everything has turned out right!!!

The Contemporary English Version (CEV) says, in verse 5, “You Lord God have done many wonderful things, and you have planned marvelous things for us.”

Thank You Lord!!

Have a great week remembering that God Loves you and has a wonderful plan for Your life! He want’s the absolute best for you that’s possible!

Isn’t He great?
