Psalm 27 begins with two questions; “who shall I fear…” and “who shall I be afraid of.” The obvious answer is no one and nothing. The reason that I don’t have anything to fear is that the Lord is my light and the Lord is my stronghold. Nothing can attack me out of the dark and nothing can overcome his protective shield.

The New Testament asks us another question: If God is for me (Romans 8:31) who can be against me? Shall I be afraid of man? No, what can a man do? Should I fear other gods? Of course not, they don’t exist! Shall I fear Satan? No, for he and his hoards can do nothing without God’s permission.

God is on my side, yes He is!
