Yesterday we asked the question “is there anything too hard for God?” The expected answer from Sarah and Abraham and from us is the same: Of course not! In Chapter 22 we see again the message of Genesis as Abraham obeys God’s instructions and offers his son on Mt. Moriah. He obeys because he has learned that God is trustworthy. Not only does he know that God has his best interest foremost in mind, he knows that nothing is too hard for God. So, he obeys and takes his son to the mountain of sacrifice.

Hebrews Chapter 11, informs us of Abraham’s thinking. It says, “By faith Abraham, at the time of testing, offered Isaac back to God. Acting in faith, he was as ready to return the promised son, his only son, as he had been to receive him – and this after he had already been told, your descendants shall come from Isaac. Abraham figured that if God wanted to, he could raise the dead.”

It’s in the time of testing that our faith counts. Do you really believe God has your best interest foremost in mind? Do you really believe that God is trustworthy? Do you believe that enough to obey him? Do you really believe nothing is too dificult for God? Do you really believe God can and will raise the dead?

Of course you do!
