The nourishing morsel for today is also from Isaiah. It’s Isaiah 1, verse 18. God says to us: “Come now, let us reason together. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.” (English Standard Version)

Isaiah had in mind the deep scarlet and purple dye which the Phoenicians made from the juice of shellfish off the coast of Palestine. The shells were crushed, cooked in salt, and left in the sun where their secretions turned purple. This dye was so effective that once the tissues of any garment were impregnated with murex juice, the color could never be washed out.

When we digest this morsel we understand that If we sincerely seek God’s forgiveness no sin is too big to be forgiven.

Lord, help me today receive your forgiveness in every area of my life. Also, help me to forgive myself for my failures.
