Oh, Oh, here is another one of those accountability passages!! You mean God cares about what we do with our lives??? Read Psalm 50 for the answer. It says something like this: God will call every human being from every spot on the face of the whole earth and from every generation into His presence to give account of how they pursued and followed His plan and purpose for their lives. Two kinds of people are in real danger: 1) Those who “sacrifice”, i.e. meet their obligations to God as a matter of external observation. God reminds us that He’s not hungry, He doesn’t need our money or time. Everything in the world is already His. “But why should I want your blue-ribbon bull, or more and more goats from your herds? Every creature in the forest is mine, the wild animals on all the mountains.”TM The point of setting a plan for our lives is not to fill His needs, but our own. God wants us to follow His plan out of gratitude and love for Him. 2) Those who give lip service to God’s plan (quote His Word) but don’t apply it to their own lives! Those who continue to follow their own plans for their lives without any concern for what God wants for them will be judged most severely. God’s anger at those who pretend to love Him, but don’t honor his Word is obvious. “What are you up to, quoting my laws, talking like we are good friends? You never answer the door when I call; you treat my words like garbage.”TM
I’ve had it, God goes on! “Time’s up for playing fast and loose with me. I’m ready to pass sentence, and there’s no help in sight!”TM
But the final verse brings it all together; “Those who walk my paths will receive salvation from the Lord.”LB Those who seek Me, and My plans for their lives, says the Lord, I will take care of them. Therefore – Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things (necessities of life) will be added unto you.
