My problem is I keep getting into trouble, and I find myself being pursued by evil again. “God! God! I am running to you for dear life; the chase is wild. If they catch me, I’m finished: ripped to shreds by foes fierce as lions, dragged into the forest and left
unlooked for, unremembered.”TM
Lord , I wish you would settle this struggle with Satan and evil once and for all. I wish you would just “Close the book on Evil, God…”TM
But you must want us to learn something from it. You want to “get us ready for life: you probe for our soft spots, you knock off our rough edges.”TM But it’s really a painful process, Lord! I hope I can make it to the point this writer did when he writes, “… I’m feeling so fit, so safe: made right, kept right.”TM
Lord deliver me from being that guy! You know, that guy who is always getting in trouble by failing to resist temptation. “Look at that guy! He had sex with sin, he’s pregnant with evil. Oh, look! He’s having the baby—a Lie-Baby!”TM
I don’t want to be the fool. I know that guy always falls prey to his own schemes and pays the price. “See that man shoveling day after day, digging, then concealing, his man-trap down that lonely stretch of road? Go back and look again—you’ll see him in it headfirst, legs waving in the breeze. That’s what happens: mischief backfires; violence boomerangs.”TM
The fool makes the same mistakes over & over!
The smart man makes the mistake once, and learns!
The wise man, watches others make the mistake and learns!
Lord, I want to be the wise man!
