God will be merciful! He will deliver me! I hope he does it without making me wait too long! But most of all, I hope he does it without punishing me too severely. Most of my problems I bring on myself. Can you relate? You might want to pray this Psalm from The Message with me. “Please, God, no more yelling, no more trips to the woodshed.” TM
Sin has beaten me up pretty bad, Lord. “Can’t you see I’m black and blue, beat up badly in bones and soul?”TM
Come to my rescue Lord. “Break in, God, and break up this fight; if you love me at all, get me out of here. I’m no good to you dead, am I? I can’t sing in your choir if I’m buried in some tomb!”TM
You know what? God answers our prayers. Then we can conclude with this Psalmist. “Get out of here, you Devil’s crew: at last God has heard my sobs. My requests have all been granted, my prayers are answered. Cowards, my enemies disappear. Disgraced, they turn tail and run.”TM
Wow! Thank You Lord!
