Listen, tempter, don’t waste your time on me! You can’t scare me…. You can’t drag me away…. You worried me once, but not anymore. “I’ve already run for dear life straight to the arms of God. So why would I run away now when you say, ‘Run to the mountains; the evil bows are bent, the wicked arrows aimed to shoot under cover of darkness at every heart open to God. The bottom’s dropped out of the country; good people don’t have a chance’”?TM No way, Jose! You won’t shake me! My protector God hasn’t changed a bit…He “hasn’t moved to the mountains; his holy address hasn’t changed.”TM He’s right where he’s always been – by my side helping me…
From Jim Crumb’s e-mail: Ps 11:3 says “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” What are our foundations? Are they the Bill of Rights? Are they the judicial system or our sense of right and wrong? Are they our belief system or intellectual abilities? Satan, working with our “desperately ill” hearts, can destroy all of those foundations. My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ love and righteousness. Our fear, honor, respect for God keeps our hearts in check, but God delivers us from Satan’s grasp. God is our foundation…a foundation laid with the sweat, blood, pain and torment of Jesus on the cross. And what would God ask from us…a quiet heart, tender toward God, a heart of clay which God can mold according to His desire. How does a hard heart become soft and tender? Must it not first be broken and then soaked in the blood of Jesus?
Ps 11:7 For the Lord is righteous, He loves righteousness, the upright will behold His face. Reminds me of another verse (can’t remember where at this time) As for me I shall behold Thy face in righteousness. I will be satisfied with Thy likeness when I awake.
We may never experience prosperity and satisfaction (by the world’s standards) in this life. Whether we do or not, prosperity and satisfaction will be ours in Heaven when we awake to see Him in all His glory and splendor. Righteousness pleases the One who loves and satisfies us.
