According to the doctrine of our glorification which is to come when we see Jesus in all His glory says that we too will be filled with as much glory as we can bear. When Moses was “with God” on the mountain, he came down 23 no shameshining with the reflection of God’s glory. I have argued that this glory is just a glimpse of what Adam and Eve exuded because of being “with” God on a regular basis in the Garden of Eden before the fall. When we saw Moses and Elijah “with” Jesus they too reflected His glory at the transfiguration. Being “with” God, in a real sense, means that we will reflect His glory also. Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 3:18 “We, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” (2 Cor. 3:18). The ultimate truth is, as Ryken puts it, “The more you get into Christ, the more Christ gets into you, until eventually you are glorified all the way through. One day you will be totally glorious!”

There’s even something more fantastic coming in the future for us. God will not stop his rejuvenation of the world with mankind only. Habakkuk 2:14 prophesied that there was a time coming when the whole earth is “filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.” (Hab. 2:14). A new heavens and a new earth will come filled with God’s glory. It will replace this one that’s filled with man’s shame! Ryken concludes his comments by saying, “When he (God) discards this tired old world, he will fill the new heavens and the new earth with the full weight of his being. Then we will spend eternity praising him for all his glorious attributes.”

The woman is said to have been the one to bring sin into the world. It was Eve that Satan first approached, tempted, swayed, and won over. The shame of the woman brought by her sin brought into the world sin and shame for all mankind. Yet the seed of the woman, the one who would come from a woman, the messiah, would be the one to restore to the woman and to all mankind the glory of God. All people, male and female, share the shame of sin. All people, male and female can share the glory of God through faith in the “seed of the woman,” The Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 11:36 says, “For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.”
