In 2 Samuel 23 David sings a song about his life and God’s faithfulness to him. In verse 5 David says, “Yes, He (God) has made an everlasting covenant with me.”

We can say that as well. God has made an irrevocable promise to us and His character guarantees it!

GOD ALWAYS KEEPS HIS PROMISES
Hebrews 10:23 (NET) And let us hold unwaveringly to the hope that we confess, for the one who made the promise is trustworthy.

ONCE WE’RE HIS HE CAN’T DISOWN HIMSELF
2 Timothy 2:13 If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, since he cannot deny himself.

WHAT GOD STARTS HE FINISHES
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24Now may the God of peace himself make you completely holy and may your spirit and soul and body be kept entirely blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is trustworthy, and he will in fact do this.

GOD’S FAITHFULNESS STREGTHENS AND PROTECTS
2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

HE WILL HELP ME IN TIMES OF TEMPTATION
1 Corinthians 10:13 No trial has overtaken you that is not faced by others. And God is faithful: He will not let you be tried beyond what you are able to bear, but with the trial will also provide a way out so that you may be able to endure it.

GOD WILL ALWAYS FORGIVE ME
1 John 1:9 But if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous, forgiving us our sins and cleansing us from all unrighteousness.

SOMETIMES OUR SUFFERING IS GOD’S WILL
1 Peter 4:19 So then let those who suffer according to the will of God entrust their souls to a faithful Creator as they do good.

Yes, God has made an everlasting covenant with us!
