Aaron was to be the first High Priest. Chapter 8 of Leviticus is truly amazing because the last time we read about Aaron was in Exodus 32. Moses was saying to him,”what got into you that you caused these people to sin by building a golden calf?” He was the one responsible for the Golden Calf. Was Aaron rejected because of his sin? Would someone else be appointed in his place? Can God’s grace and forgiveness be given to Aaron? Can a

sinner like Aaron be appointed to the highest religious office in the nation? Leviticus 8 gives a re-sounding affirmation of God’s grace in restoring Aaron to the place where God had called him to be.

Again and again, throughout the Bible, God uses imperfect people to do His will. God uses people like Aaron in God’s redemptive work in the world. God even uses people like us! Isn’t that good news!
