In Exodus 23:20, God sends his people to take possession of the promised land. He tells them, “Behold, I send an angel before you to guard you on the way and to bring you to the place that I have prepared.”

This promise extends to all those who attempt to do God’s will in their lives. The Psalmist tells us this in 91:9-11. He says, “If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.”

We must remember this promise during times when our enemies appear to conquer us and when sickness overwhelms us or our loved ones. This promise doesn’t exempt us from suffering in life, but it emphatically guarantees a victorious conclusion to it.

For the Christian, Jesus himself repeated this promise. He said, “I go before you to prepare a place for you, that where I am there you will be also. do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

No matter how we might suffer in this life, just remember, it ain’t over, till it’s over!
