Life is hard, but God is good.

Vs 8 of Chapter 18  says, “Moses told his father-in-law … all the hardship that had come upon them in the way, and how the Lord had delivered them.”

They were hungry. God gave them food. Moses didn’t give them food. It came directly from Heaven. They were thirsty, God brought water from the rock. Moses didn’t give them water from the Rock. God did through His staff. They were attacked by Amalek, God gave them victory. The victory over Amalek was given to Joshua only as Moses extended the staff of God. In this way, God ensured that the victory would be His, not Joshua’s or the Israeli Army’s. Thus Jethro “rejoiced for all the good that Lord had done for Israel” (Vs 18:9). He didn’t commend Moses or Joshua for their great feats. He recognized the hand of the Lord. Even though Israel went Hungry,  even though Israel thirsted in the wilderness, even though Israel was attacked by their enemies, Jethro insists that God is good.

God brings challenges and hardships to show us how good HE is!

Yes, life is hard, but God is good.
