When Israel sinned against their Gods and found themselves in slavery the indicment recorded often in the text is that they would forsake the Lord “who brought them out of Egypt.” It served as a constant reminder of who this God was and what He was like. He was the God who had delivered them from Slavery once from the greatest and most powerful nation in the world. If they would turn their hearts back to Him, he would once again deliver them from slavery to world powers and set their feet on solid ground!

Lord, help me remember Who you are and what kind of God you are. Your instructions are always for my benefit because you love me and have my best interest foremost in mind. No matter what has happened, or what I’ve done to cause it, you will forgive me and take me back.
