In Leviticus 9:24 we read that the first fire upon the altar came from heaven. As we read yesterday, the Israelites were never allowed to let that fire go out. By keeping that up continually, all the sacrifices might be said to be consumed with the fire from heaven, as a token of God’s acceptance.

We should not let our fire (passion for God) go out either. Once it does, it’s very difficult to fan back into flame again. The exercise of our faith and love, of prayer and praise, should also be continual, without ceasing.
