Warren Wiersbe names his commentary on the book of Job “Be Patient.” I’m reminded of James 5:11 “You’ve heard about the patience of Job, and have seen what God brought about in the end. The Lord is full of Mercy and compassion.” Indeed Job is the perfect example of the “patient man.”
He sits quietly and listens to his three friends berate him and criticise him and accuse him of having brought his misery upon himself through some unknown sin.
Job suffered in just about every way imaginable and never lost his faith in God. That’s what patience is! Letting God direct the days of our lives, submitting to his program, and trusting him for the results. Remember the Lord is full of Mercy and compassion. He will make things right for us, just as he made things right for Job in the end!
