We are so conscious of what is destroying the atmosphere these days. The ecologists worry about the environment – and raise the consciousness of the socially concerned. Christians should be very concerned about the environment as well. But, there is a greater concern that seems to capture our attention. There is another serious form of pollution taking place that is much worse than environmental. It’s from those who deny God. “Bilious and bloated, they gas, ‘God is gone.’ Their words are poison gas, fouling the air; they poison rivers and skies…”TM
God “sticks his head out of heaven. He looks around”TM and asks is there even “one man, even one, God expectant?”TM You know “He’s looking for someone not stupid…”TM Is there “just one God-ready woman?”TM
This psalm says, “He comes up empty. A string of zeros… Don’t they know anything?… Don’t they know they can’t get away with this—Treating people like a fast-food meal over which they’re too busy to pray?”TM
How will God respond to those who reject Him, and treat others like objects? How will God respond to the poor who love and fear him?
First, those who reject God. “Night is coming for them, and nightmares…Do you think you can mess with the dreams of the poor? You can’t, for God makes their dreams come true.”TM
Second, those who turn to God. “Is there anyone around to save…. Yes. God is around; God turns life around. (a) turned-around (life) skips rope, (a) turned-around (life) sings laughter!”TM
Do you believe in God?
